How do you get built in tile properties?

If I have custom properties set on a tile, I know that I can get them by:
Code:
tileset.getTileProperties(tile.tileId)
.

However, I cannot figure out how to get the default properties for a tile, specifically "Type".

Does anybody know how to do this?
